The next generation of human branding: Twitter

For those of us who aren't famous twitter was just another means of us communicating and expressing ourselves with friends. For the rich, famous, and powerful twitter meant one thing FREE PUBLICITY! Twitter brings so much attention to celebrities that they no longer have to sale stories to various magazines just to get some shine.

So what does this mean to the world of human branding? How has it impacted it?  Well it depends on the celebrity and how good of a publicist they have. Some celebrities actually ruin their brand on twitter by going in on fans or partaking in silly rampages. Others boost their brands and use it as a platform to promote their latest projects.

Take Lady Gaga for example: twitter.com/ladygaga
She uses her twitter to promote charities, solidify her "bad girl" image, and of course state her originally outlandish opinions.
